We all know that with vacuum packaging, there will be great guarantees for food packaging nowadays. Various packaging skills will continue to emerge in the modern market. The use of high technology provides a perfect foundation for the improvement of food packaging. Today the packaging skill we talk is Modified-Atmosphere Packaging.
Three common uses in Modified-Atmosphere Packaging
China has successfully used nanotechnology to efficiently catalyze the formation of degradable plastics from CO₂. That is, the catalyst for preparing plastics by using CO₂ is "destroyed" to the nanometer level, and the polymerization of the catalytic molecules and CO₂ is completed, so that about 0.1 g of CO₂ per gram of the catalyst is catalyzed to constitute a new packaging material containing 42% of CO₂. It is widely used as an environmentally-friendly material with excellent degradability.
Nitrogen (N2) is an ideal inert gas. It has special effects in food packaging: it does not react with food and is not absorbed by food. It can reduce the oxygen content in the package and greatly multiply the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and mold. To slow the oxidation and decay of food, so as to keep food fresh. Nitrogen-packed foods can also avoid the kneading and breaking of food, food bonding or shrinking, and insist on the shape, dryness, crispness, color and aroma of food. Nowadays, nitrogen-filled packaging is rapidly replacing traditional vacuum packaging, and it has been used for frying potato chips and French fries, cooking food and so on. Affected by consumers, especially children and youth, nitrogen-filled packaging is expected to be used for more food packaging.
The composite modified atmosphere packaging is collectively referred to as MAP packaging in the world. The modified atmosphere is generally composed of CO₂, N2, O2 and a few special gases. CO₂ can grow and multiply according to most aerobic erosive bacteria and molds; O2 grows and multiplies according to most anaerobic rot bacteria; insists on fresh meat color, maintains oxygen and oxygen and freshness of fresh fruits and vegetables; N2 is used as filling gas. The composition ratio of the composite gas is appropriately selected according to the type of food, the preservation requirements and the packaging materials, and the packaged food has a high preservation quality, a good nutritional composition, a true arrival of the original trait, and a delay in the shelf life of the fresh-keeping shelf. Composite modified atmosphere packaging has been widely used at home and abroad.
